Responsive Images Made Easy

Econa simplifies responsive images in Joomla! by leveraging the HTML5 srcset attribute, enabling your site to automatically serve the optimal image size based on the visitor's device. Define different image sizes to target various screen resolutions, reducing bandwidth usage and improving site load times.

How it works:
- Define your desired image sizes, specifying the resize width and quality.
- Optionally, add CSS media query rules to determine which image size is served.

Econa also supports retina images, automatically delivering higher resolution versions to compatible devices. This functionality applies to images uploaded via Econa Image Custom Fields and content images within articles.

Joomla! Custom Fields Integration

With Econa's integration into Joomla! Custom Fields, you can easily add, resize, and edit images directly within your articles. You can add multiple images per article—each custom field lets you upload an image or select one from your server, then automatically generates up to ten different sizes based on your specifications. You can also customize filenames for SEO, and add captions, credits, alt text, and watermarks for enhanced branding and image protection. Econa supports JPEG, GIF, and PNG formats (note: PNG transparency is not preserved during resizing). All operations are performed using AJAX for a fast, smooth user experience.

Note: K2 integration is available only for Joomla 3.x. Econa does not support K2 in Joomla 4 and later versions.

- Simple Method: Automatically resize images to match the dimensions set in the WYSIWYG editor, reducing page load times by preventing oversized images from being served.
- Responsive Images Method: Define up to ten image sizes for content images, allowing Econa to automatically generate and serve the most appropriate size using the HTML5 srcset attribute.

Resize Article Images

Even without using the Econa custom fields, you can set Econa to resize the article's default "Intro" and "Full" images under the "Images and Links" tab in the article editor.
