We have created this plugin because our customers really like the Joomla! Update Notification plugin which is standard available upon a Joomla! installation. But our customers (and we ourselfs too) missed the feature to be notified about any available extension update on our installed Joomla! websites.
There's a good change you do not even need this plugin if you visit you're websites backend on a daily base. But what if you do not have the time to log in every day to check for any extension update? Well, this plugin does the check for you and sends you an email with the extension that have an update ready for download.
All the necessary items are listed in the e-mail, including the links with extra information about the specific update (if the developer have one available). That way you can deside when you want to install the extension update and know about them as soon as they become available (checked by your own site).
New in version 1.1
Just a few minor changes: we've set the notification e-mail to be in HTML format now and made an adjustment so the table of the extensions list is displayed properly in e-mails.Added the possibility in the plugin paramters to set the interval when an notification e-mail should be sent. It can still use the default setting from the Installer Updates Caching, though.
How to install Joomla ExtUpNotification Extension
You can install Joomla ExtUpNotification Extension via Joomla Installer.
Follow the steps below:
- Download the Joomla ExtUpNotification Extension package from the official website.
- Login to your Joomla website's administrator dashboard.
- Go to the "Extensions" tab and select "Manage" from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the "Upload Package File" tab and select the Joomla ExtUpNotification Extension package that you downloaded.
- Click the "Upload & Install" button to install the extension.
- You will see a confirmation message when the installation is complete.
That's it! You can now use Joomla ExtUpNotification Extension on your Joomla website.
